We have moved and are unpacking the basement. Fortunately, the movers we able to fit the tanks in to the new basement, making it an official 'Fish Room'

Don't tell my wife. She still wants to get rid of at least one....

Hope to begin set-up of 155 gallons this fall....

So here is the low down.

I, my family, and all of my empty glass boxes are moving to Columbus from Chicago for a new employment challenge. This is why I have not set up any of the vast array of equipment and potential reef envitonments that are discussed here. Documentation and data on my new reefs will continue promptly when I am settled in for a longer time.

Check back every few months, please....

Burnt pump.

The live rock is now dry, dead, and semi-useless. The Rio pump decided to burn out, filling the water with a noxious, nasty oily film and burnt ozone reek. I am afraid to use the rock now.

So lets summarize.
(1) 155 gallon glass tank in storage.
(1) 65 gallon acrylic tank in the basement.
(1) 40 gallon glass tank in storage.
(1) 10 gallon glass sump.
(1) 10 gallon glass isolation tank.

so many tanks, so little time.

New Tank!

Images of the new (used) tank and live rock!

In addition to the CPR backpack, there is a coralife compact flourescent light fixture with moonlights and a coralife chiller! Lots of additives, 2 clean trash cans, and loads of accessories. There are a lot of scaratches and calcified substance all over.

Loads of fun ahead!

New Adventures in reefkeeping

This will allow me to blog my butt off.

I am the proud new owner of a 65 gallon acrylic tank with all the trimmings. This includes a chiller, CF lights, live rock and all. The live rock is currently in a bucket in the basement while I clean and prepare the tank, and reconfigure some of the plumbing.

Lots of photos and discussion of teh best setup is to come.....
